HOW DO I GET STARTED?

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Matthew 18:20

QUESTIONS ABOUT HOME FELLOWSHIPS

How do I start a home fellowship?

All you need to start a home fellowship is you, the Holy Ghost, and at least one other saved person. In the Bible, fellowships took place in the homes of the saints. They fellowshipped from house to house (Acts 2:46) Yeshoshua said "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20.

How many people should be in a home fellowship?

You only need 2 people to start. Once the group reaches between 12 and 20 people, the group should be split into 2, with another home selected for the second group to start meeting.

Where should we meet?

You can choose one home to be the central meeting place or you can rotate which house you gather.

Why "The Living Room"?

This name represents two things. The living room of most homes serve as the hosting place for guests to come and enjoy each other's presence. In addition it also represents that we are not just to "serve" the Lord at the times that we meet, but rather that we should be "living" this life every day.

Who are the gatherings for?

Home fellowship gatherings are for those who are saved. Meaning they have repented, been baptized in the Name of Yehoshua HaMashiach and received the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues according to Acts 2:38.

Should we invite those who are not born again to the fellowship?

In the Bible, those who were preached to and desired to receive salvation, the disciples/apostles/evangelists prayed with them on the spot and salvation was received immediately. After they were saved, they would then gather with other saints to receive strength, encouragement  and grow in the Lord.

If someone desires to be saved, you can take them to be baptized and you can also pray with them to receive the Holy Ghost right where they are. However, the body of Christ is not something that can be joined. One has to be born into this. So until they are born again, they are still a sinner and cannot "join" the fellowship. The Bible says "what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Where can we baptize people?

Public beaches, rivers and lakes are great locations for baptisms. Local YMCA's or other membership based swimming pools also are good options.
